Senior Senate

 

The purpose of the Mercy Center on Aging Senior Senate shall be to provide a liasion between the membership and the administration of the Mercy Center on Aging.

Membership

  1. Eash class or group sponsored by the Mercy Center on Aging shall be given the option of representation in the Mercy Center on Aging Senior Senate. Senators shall be selected by a method determined by the represented group.
  2. At-large senators may be appointed by the MCA staff.
  3. All senators enjoy the same rights and privelages.
  4. Membership shall not exceed 25.

 

Duties and Authority

A senator is asked to assume the following roles:

  1. To make public service announcements to his/her representative group
  2. To convey any suggestions from the representative group to the Mercy Center staff.
  3. To provide general center information for any new members in the representative group... to act as host.hostess when the new member begins attendance.
  4. To assist the Mercy Center staff as resource for teaching personnel, entertainment, trip locations, or program suggestions.
  5. To discuss any complaints or criticisms from the representative group with the appropriate Mercy Center personnel.
  6. To support and explain the Mercy Center on Aging policies and procedures to members.

 

The Senior Senate serves in an advisory capacity only with consultative authority.
