At the Mercy Center on Aging, the older person is encouraged to remain independent, supported in life situations and stimulated to contribute within the Erie community
Purpose and Goals
Our general objective is to provide a multi-service center for the citizens of the Erie area with the accent on service to the elderly. We provide a focal point where older persons can come together for a variety of activities, services, and programs. It is intended that all of the community's ethnic, religious, and racial groups will feel welcome and comfortable. Here at the Center, the older person is encouraged to remain independent and relate to others in a setting that is his/her own.
The particular objectives of this project are:
The Mercy Center on Aging is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in any personnel practice. Discrimination for any non-merit reason such as race, color, creed, national origin, age, religion, sex, martial status, handicap or political affiliation is expressly forbidden. The Mercy Center on Aging is, by reason of funding, a subcontractor of the Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC).
The poverty of those whose wealth cannot purchase love and companionship are unable to relieve the ache of isolation and misunderstanding or cannot obtain their rights and privileges in present society because of ignorance provides the dedication for programming and service of the Center.
