With Wisdom and Grace. The Mercy Center on Aging, located at 444 East Grandview Boulevard, Erie, Pennsylvania in the west wing of the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse, opened on October 1, 1973.
It occupies some 800 square feet. Sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, the Mercy Center has 75% funding through Title III of the Older Americans Act. The remaining funds are gained by fund raising or through donations/fees for services.
The Mercy Center is described as a multi-service center. It is not a nutrition site, although lunch is offered to participants by the Sisters of Mercy in their dining room. The two-floor wing includes a health clinic, beauty shop, craft/art room, activity room, administration offices, and welcoming lounge with reception area and pool table.
